This book includes 16 units, each exploring an element of art or compositional arrangement. Four projects in each unit cover creative thinking, art appreciation with a focus on European art, techniques used in pencil and charcoal, and a final project requiring students to synthesize information to create personal works of art. Students explore various subject matters, and work from a variety of references including landscape, still-life, and photographs in 64 projects. 9th-12th graders will have fun learning and be challenged in assignments that guide students to mature artistic expression.
