If you haven't read Genevieve Foster's books you are really missing alot. She wrote books based on peoples time period. For instance, she wrote about George Washington or Abe Lincoln and then told in story form alot, what was else was happening during this lifetime. They are fascinating. And make excellent accompaniments to any unit study or just plain family reading. Foster wrote books for children because she wanted her children to have "good" books.
