What are you figuring Now? a story of Benjamin Banneker by Jeri Ferris
Paul Revere's Ride by Longfellow
Toliver's Secret by Esther wood Brady (A ten yr old girl crosses enemy lines during the American Revolutionary War to deliver a message for the patriots).
George Washington's World by Genevieve Foster ( We used this more for reference).
Amos Fortune: Free Man by Elizabeth Yates (We really liked this story).
George Washington (from the childhood of famous americans) - this was excellent. We laughed and just enjoyed this book.
The Story of Thomas Jefferson by Earl Schenck Miers (from the
Signature Series). This book is so good. It is written similiar to the Childhood of Famous Americans Series. And this is just a great read aloud.
The Bulletproof George Washington by David Barton (geared more for grades 7 & up).
Swift Arrow
by Josephine Cunnington Edwards. This book isn't set during the American Revolution - though, that isn't part of the story. IT is excellent.
